What color should I paint my new living room? NOTE: this is not my stuff. My stuff consists of an eggplant purple couch.

Chocolate. I have been in a chocolate mood lately. I love it with aqua or with green. I even love it with red. I hadn't thought of it with purple but why not?

Not the red, yellow or purple. I think the other colors would look good with your elegant purple couch.

The teal or the chocolate. The chocolate would look best with the couch but it would also make the room really dark. Maybe you should paint 3 walls a cream or tan color and paint one wall colored...

How very Andy Warhol of you (at least with the photo you posted)!

I'm digging the chocolate, although green is my favorite color. I like tiecen's idea-- I've seen others paint one wall a bold color and leave the remaining walls neutral. It looks great.

I'm going to go with the yellow. I think it will make you happy and look good with the couch.
