This blog is Kell's attempt to keep in touch with friends far away who complain that I don't e-mail nearly enough.

Chicks are Catty

This was taken at a recent wedding - These two cute kids were arguing over holding the bride's dress... I forgot how important it is to be the kid to hold the bride's dress. In related thoughts - I forgot how important it is to feature only one flower girl in your wedding... I really like this picture.

I presume you took this? It's brilliant. I especially like seeing how beautifully dressed, beautifully coiffed, and how just plain beautiful these girls are, contrasted with the ugly expressions on their faces.

I also love the angle of the photo, where you got down so low that we are looking up at the girls, while almost none of the adults' faces are visible. You've captured that universe which is so real to children but that adults don't have access to normally.

Also (I'll shut up after this), you've captured so much of the crucible of life that a wedding is. Everyone gets so tense and concentrates all their feelings into little tiny things, and children do, too. Sometimes adults are able to hold this tension in, but kids haven't learned how to do it yet.

Okay, one more thing before I shut up. Would you mind my reproducing the photo on my blog? It just really struck me.
